Registration will open on August 18, 2023.  

At Blessed Sacrament we offer instruction for children from PREK4 - 6th grade using the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd method as well as the Family of Faith Program.  CGS is a Montessori based instruction where the children learn at their own pace in a specially prepared environment we call the Atrium. Family of Faith is a whole family experience that builds up the domestic church.  It includes one class for parent instruction that will assist with the family projects they will comeplete at home as well as one community meeting per month.
 
Blessed Sacrament Parish Religious Education (RE) program also prepares the children for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation, and First Communion. Parents must be registered members of Blessed Sacrament Parish and have submitted all necessary paperwork required by the Office of Catechesis.

No matter if the child is preparing for or has received Sacraments, we encourage all children to attend religious education every year from 4 years throughout adulthood.  After 6^th grade they are invited to participate in Youth activities.

Children will prepare for and received their First Reconciliation in 2^nd grade.  Then they will prepare for and receive Confirmation and First Communion at the same mass during their 3^rd grade year. 
 
At Blessed Sacrament we require that all children participate in religious education for a minimum of 1 year prior to preparing for any sacraments.  This is to ensure proper time for growth in the relationship with our Lord and have appropriate time for discernment of the Sacraments.  If for some reason the child has had no instruction to date they will be delayed.  For instance, if you have a child in 3^rd grade that has never had any religious education; they would participate in regular instruction this year, then reconciliation in 4^th grade and Confirmation and First Communion in 5^th grade.  Our multi-aged class design and family catechsis both allow us to offer this unique opportunity for the children to go at their own pace.
 
Registration opens each year on the 3rd Friday of August.  Please see the schedule for our mandatory parent orientation and class calendar.  The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated on the first Saturday of March and the Sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation are celebrated in May on a date and time scheduled by the Bishop's office.  Please click on the Parish Calendar for a full schedule.
